The STAFFORDSHIRE based band, Solid Soul, was formed by Paul Bennett as a project band designed for functions of all types from weddings to huge corporate events. With a varied set of songs that is constantly being added to, the mix of the greatest soul standards by artistes such as Ben E. King, Otis Redding, James Brown, The Temptations, Kool and The Gang and more contemporary tunes from the likes of The Police, Lenny Kravitz and Free is a recipe for success and guaranteed to keep the party going. The current line up consists of seven extremely talented semi-professional and professional musicians, all from different backgrounds and all bringing complimentary styles that form the individual sound of THE SOLID SOUL BAND.

BRASS SECTION The Solid Soul Brass section is a force to be reckoned with. A three piece, consisting of Trumpet (Paul Bennett), Trombone (Helen Miller) and Sax (Sam Rogers), these Professional musicians are exceptionally talented and provide the original soul sound to their set as well as writing parts to enhance and expand their repertoire. Playing with the likes of Roy Wood, Nearly Dan, The Drifters, Goldblade, Alvin Stardust, to name but a few, their pedigree speaks for itself...

RHYTHM SECTION This is one of the most solid rhythm sections on the circuit..On lead and rhythm guitar is, Gaz Read, from a rock background he injects an edge into the band that complements the styles within. On the Bass guitar is, Graham Miller, from a funk and soul background and as solid as they come, Graham provides an unpretentious backbone to the band. On drums we have Louis Williams , the driving metronome of the band, again solid and unpretentious but with just enough flare...

SINGER/FRONTMAN The Unmistakable voice of David Taylor provides the sound needed to front this great band. A formidable front man, David is probably one of the best singers you will hear and his vocal style is simply outstanding. Having such a powerful and versatile voice makes him the ideal front man for The Solid Soul Band.
